As I become more comfortable with each skill, I forget how scared I was to try it in the first place. I realized this while learning the technique for 180’s. Open the book; close the book – easy peasy right?!? My internal danger sensor started buzzing, and my nervousness/anxiety/whatever started increasing…this same feeling came up while learning to crossover, skate in a paceline and t-stop! Each of these formerly scary/challenging skills I can now do without thinking. Hmmm….if I could just figure out how to get out of my head while learning new skills, training would be so much easier!
